Description — Westerdam
The Westerdam 5* liner is the third Vista-class ship in the Holland America Line fleet. It combines technological innovations such as a diesel-electric propulsion system for more fuel-efficient consumption, as well as the latest Azipod system, which makes the ship more maneuverable.
The main theme of the collection of artworks on board the liner is Dutch heritage, from depictions of historic Dutch ships such as Henry Hudson’s Half Moon vessel, to wooden palace gates covered in silver; from a tobacco pipe carved in the shape of a female head to a collection of limestone figurines from Ecuador, made more than 5000 years ago. Contemporary works include a portrait by Andy Warhol and unique sculptures by Suzanne Holt.
On board the Westerdam, you’ll find everything you need for a quality and comfortable sea journey: all sorts of bars, cafés, and high-end cuisine restaurants, a theatre with performances by artists and musicians, an excellent SPA salon, and even the The Culinary Arts Center, where you can take part in a culinary show and tasting.

The cruise company recommends having three types of clothing during your trip:
casual everyday wear for rest and sports activities,
clothing and shoes for excursions depending on the season and route features (sport and casual)
elegant clothing for evening visits to restaurants and evening events: shows, casino, clubs, bars (smart casual "more strict" and formal "strict").
During formal evenings, the following are welcome: cocktail dresses for women, and suits with a tie or tuxedos for men (the latter can be rented on board for an additional fee).
During evening events, the cruise company does not recommend staying in beachwear: shorts, flip-flops, and sneakers.
