Overview - Royal Caribbean International

Uniqueness of the cruise company Royal Caribbean International

The cruise company Royal Caribbean International was founded in 1968, and its headquarters are located in the United States. You can recognize the company’s ships by a distinctive feature: at the end of each liner’s name, the word “of the Seas” is included.

Key features of cruises from Royal Caribbean International:

  • The company’s fleet includes 29 liners with advanced equipment. On board each ship, there are comfortable cabins, restaurants, and staff.

  • The company owns beaches in the Caribbean and the Bahamas. Access to them is available only to RCI clients.

  • The liners operate on dozens of routes. Through the operator, you can book tours to Alaska, the Persian Gulf, South and North America, Canada, Hawaii, and other popular destinations.

  • In Royal Caribbean International cruises, the main focus is on comfort and passenger satisfaction. Every detail has been thought through-from high-quality dining to educational fully immersive excursions in local culture.

The Royal Caribbean International liners are staffed and equipped, ensuring tour safety. The ships have a reliable security system with video surveillance, metal detectors, and guards.

Royal Caribbean International cruise fleet

Royal Caribbean International offers guests ships of several classes:

  • Oasis. Liners in this class are the largest in the world in terms of area and number of decks.

  • Quantum. A distinctive feature of liners in this class is the presence of a viewing capsule on board.

  • Freedom. Liners will appeal to active vacation lovers and thrill-seekers.

  • Voyager. Liners for a relaxed vacation and long journeys.

  • Radiance. A type of liner with a large open space. There are walking decks and cabins with huge windows.

  • Vision. International liners created for long voyages to any point on the planet.

  • True. The ships operate on southern routes, taking you to the Caribbean Islands or other warm countries.

Any RCI liner is a high-tech ship that’s enjoyable to be on.

Royal Caribbean International cruise destinations

As mentioned above, Royal Caribbean cruises offer a variety that’s truly satisfying. The liners operate on 200 destinations and call at 300 ports. Each year, the company adds new routes to surprise even the most discerning clients.

You can sail on RCI liners to the following main destinations:

  • Alaska;

  • Canada;

  • Caribbean basin;

  • Hawaii;

  • Bahamas;

  • Bermuda;

  • Asia;

  • Europe;

  • Arabian and Persian Gulfs;

  • Australia;

  • Cuba;

  • New Zealand;

  • Panama Canal.

Special attention is paid to cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas. RCI holds rights to several beaches in the Caribbean and Bahamas. Tourists are offered well-equipped places to relax with developed infrastructure, restaurants, sports and dance areas, parks, and more. Berri Island, CocoCay beaches, or Labadee are provided exclusively to clients of the Royal Caribbean cruise company.

Cabins on the liners

Tourists can book a Royal Caribbean cruise in a convenient cabin of one of the following types:

  • Interior cabins. Provide private rest away from prying eyes. They differ in size and accommodate different numbers of people. Cabins include showers, beds, and tables. They feature a cozy interior.

  • Interior cabins with a virtual balcony. Differ from standard interior cabins by a wide-format screen that is 2 m high. The screen shows real-time images from the captain’s bridge. There are cabins with one king-size bed or with two beds.

  • Cabins with a window. The windows let you enjoy sea views in real life, as well as local architecture and nature, and observe life in ports. Some liners offer cabins with interior windows. Through them, guests can watch exciting events-for example, a parade on the Royal Promenade or sports training in Central Park.

  • Cabins with a balcony. Interior balconies offer many advantages to guests of the liner. They have a larger area and make your vacation more varied. From the balconies, you can watch interesting events on board-this is more convenient than viewing activities through windows.

  • Cabins with a balcony and ocean view. If you want to get the most memorable impressions from a sea journey, a cabin with a balcony and ocean view is the best option. Breakfasts on the balcony are especially enjoyable, when you can admire sea landscapes, ports of major cities, or the scenery along the shore.

  • Suites. Cabins for luxurious relaxation. Suites are luxury-class rooms. Guests are offered personal restaurants, unlimited internet, exclusive pools, and personal concierges. Such cabins are suitable for large families and groups and offer enhanced comfort.

The cabin type and size significantly affect the price of Royal Caribbean tickets and the overall trip.

Entertainment on liners of different classes from Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean Cruises is a journey filled with entertainment on well-equipped liners. The company ensures that guests don’t get bored between port calls.

Parades, theatrical performances, musicals, and sporting events are held on board. Fans of a calm vacation can spend time by the pools and in restaurants. For those who enjoy a thrill, there are casinos and bars. Young people will enjoy the dance floors and romantic parties. Entertainment options largely depend on the liner class.

Quantum class

Liners are equipped with entertainment venues and special capsules for sightseeing. The venues include roller rinks, zones for extreme rides in collision-style cars, and surfing simulators.

Viewing capsules are a separate source of pride for RCI. On the upper decks, towers are built with a secured, moving capsule in which 1-3 people can fit. The capsule made of durable glass provides a 180-degree view. The height of ascent is over 90 meters. This kind of entertainment will appeal to thrill-seekers and fans of beautiful landscapes.

Oasis class

A “Royal Caribbean” cruise on this liner is a super-comfortable journey on one of the largest ships in the world.

Attractions on liners of this class include:

  • Surfing simulator;

  • Zip line attraction;

  • Acrobatic water show;

  • Broadway-style musicals;

  • Jacuzzis;

  • Water slides;

  • And much more.

On board each liner there are 20 restaurants with a variety of cuisines, excellent views of the ocean and ports, comfortable cabins, and courteous staff. Oasis-class liners are a true paradise on Earth.

Freedom class

Freedom-class liners offer guests dozens of different entertainment options:

  • DreamWorks show;

  • Surfing simulator;

  • Ice rink;

  • Climbing wall;

  • Interactive water park;

  • Night casinos.

Companies of young people and families with children feel great on ships of this class. The variety of entertainment is complemented by comfortable accommodations, delicious cuisine, safety, and attentive staff. In addition, the decks are equipped with sports facilities, walking areas, and huge entertainment centers.

Voyager class

“Voyager” is the class of liners for long journeys. On the decks and in the cabins, you’ll find everything you need for a long voyage, right up to a park with live trees and plants directly on board.

On the decks, entire streets are recreated with restaurants, theaters, sports facilities, and other entertainment. Guests can feel as comfortable as possible by being in an improvised floating city.

For almost everyone, swimming in pools, outdoor cinemas, surfing, climbing walls, and water parks will be interesting. Special attention should be given to the Royal Promenade-a park on the liner’s deck that is always green and welcoming to travelers.

“Sister” class

Royal Caribbean cruises on Radiance-class liners take place in areas with cool climates. On these ships, there are practically no decks with open spaces, so nothing prevents you from enjoying breathtaking sea views and scenery.

Cabins and common areas on Radiance-class liners are equipped with large panoramic windows, through which guests can observe what’s happening without leaving the warm interiors. RCI made sure travelers are in comfortable conditions while still being able to fully immerse themselves in the local culture and beauty.

Vision class

A cruise on a Royal Caribbean Vision-class liner is a journey through Alaska, the Caribbean, and other attractive corners of the world. Ships in this class are universal and suitable for cruises on both cold and warm routes.

On board, there will be entertainment for both adult tourists and young people. The deck includes sports facilities, a surfing simulator, mini-golf, climbing walls, etc.

At night, clubs and bars open, ready to meet young people with trendy music, tasty drinks, and friendly staff. On RCI liners, you can find new friends or have a great time with a large group or family.

“Sovereign” class

At the moment, 2 Royal Caribbean liners have been recreated: Majesty and Empress. These are classic 20th-century liners in a modern design. With 12 decks, the huge ships travel along tropical routes through the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Florida.

On board, you can play golf, visit the signature Royale casino, and for sunbathers, there’s a pool and sun loungers. On weekends, tourists are offered excellent drinks, the tastiest brunches, and entertainment programs. The liners call at several ports on the route, and also stop at exclusive beaches in the Caribbean Islands and the Bahamas.

Private beaches

Royal Caribbean tours offer a unique opportunity to visit beaches owned by the company. Benefits of exclusive access without outsiders, minimal risks during your vacation, and clean, well-maintained beaches.

RCI offers several locations for passengers of the liners:

  • CocoCay Island. Located in the Bahamas archipelago. It was purchased and transformed by Royal Caribbean International. Today, CocoCay is a set of well-kept beaches, beautiful scenery, and clean sea for swimming. The island is 16 km long and 0.5 km wide. By 2019, the local infrastructure was fully established, and the “Perfect Day on CocoCay” program was implemented.

  • Labadee leisure area. Located under long-term lease with RCI and consists of several sea beaches and a forest area. Labadee is part of Haiti, but the territory is separated and is under constant security.

  • Lalepa Island. At the moment, it has been purchased by RCI, but the area is not yet accessible to tourists. The project will be implemented by 2022.

On the exclusive beaches, the main currency accepted is US dollars. Safety of tourists, comfort, and a well-thought-out set of entertainment remain a priority. The islands are equipped so that everyone will find something they like, regardless of age and preferences.

Restaurants and bars

Vacationing on a Royal Caribbean liner is inseparably connected with culinary delights. Each ship has several restaurants.

Guests are offered:

  • Dinner according to schedule, in free time and in a family format;

  • Meals in the main restaurant;

  • Room service from the main restaurant;

  • Alternative restaurants.

Passengers are also offered informal dinners at several locations on the ship, bars with exquisite drinks, and entire events dedicated to culinary masterpieces.

Information for tourists

Royal Caribbean International cruises are built around the concept of caring for passengers. Each RCI liner is an example of international customer service.

Important travel details are defined as follows:

  • Impeccable safety standard. During check-in, each passenger undergoes screening using facial recognition scanners and metal detectors. Surveillance cameras operate continuously on the decks, and in any disputable situations, security staff will help you.

  • The most popular currency. US dollars are accepted on board and on the company’s exclusive beaches.

  • Excursions on each route. Unique excursions have been developed for all routes to choose from. Guests can select one or several, and listen to educational stories about local culture, architecture, and attractions.

  • High-speed Internet. From any place on the planet, you can stay in touch with loved ones. Unlimited Wi-Fi works in the suites; passengers of standard cabins can access the internet in special cafes and lounges.

  • Smoking on liners. Smoking is prohibited in public areas. But separate areas are provided for smokers. A fine of $250 applies for smoking in unauthorized places.

Additional cruise conditions vary depending on the route. Check them with the operator.
