Description — Maasdam
Maasdam 5* - the 5th liner of the Holland America Line company with a 135-year history. Small in size, Maasdam was designed specifically to make it easier to deliver a higher level of service onboard with fewer passengers, as well as to provide generous space on the ship. The second feature is that most cabins have their own balcony.
The interior is styled in the spirit of Dutch colonies of the 17th-19th centuries in East and West Indies. In the central part of this refined liner, in a tall three-deck atrium, there is "Totem" by Luciano Vistosi - a monumental sculpture that uses almost 2,000 shimmering glass particles.
Other intriguing works of art shown on the Maasdam include two abstract paintings created especially for Rotterdam and a collection of seven Japanese cast-iron teapots dating to the end of the Edo period.

The cruise company recommends having three types of clothing during your trip:
everyday wear for rest and sports activities (casual),
clothing and shoes for excursions depending on the season and the specifics of the itinerary (sport and casual)
elegant attire for evening visits to restaurants and evening events: shows, the casino, clubs, and bars (smart casual "more strict" and formal "strict").
During formal evenings, cocktail dresses for women are welcome, as well as suits with a tie or tuxedos for men (the latter can be rented on board for an additional fee).
During evening events, the cruise company does not encourage being in beachwear: shorts, flip-flops, and sneakers.
