Description — Silver Explorer
The small size of this enchanting ultra-luxury cruise ship allows it to explore the most remote corners of our planet. The ship was launched in February 1989 and purchased in 2007 by Silversea Cruises, after which it underwent a multi-million-dollar reconstruction. Today, Silver Explorer is one of the most beautiful and luxurious boutique cruise ships. And, without a doubt, it is one of the few cruise ships where, during the day, guests wrap up in warm parkas and go out to watch polar bears, walruses, and penguins, and in the evening-in evening gowns and suits-enjoy a wonderful dinner, fine champagne, and exclusive desserts, while enjoying leisurely social conversations or listening to speakers who talk about the region.
The cruise ship’s main cruise itineraries are Iceland, Greenland, Spitsbergen, and the Polar Circle in summer, while South America and Antarctica are featured in autumn and winter. The ship’s 1A ice-strength rating ensures safe sailing through ice. In addition, the cruise ship is equipped with lifeboats designed to bring passengers ashore in the most hard-to-reach places.
All staterooms on Silver Explorer feature ocean views, elegant and luxurious interiors, excellent service-including the services of a personal butler-and complimentary 24-hour service: breakfast, lunch, or dinner can be delivered to your stateroom at any time you wish, at no extra charge and without gratuities. In all public areas and in the staterooms on board, there is Wi-Fi (for an additional fee).
Silver Explorer offers expedition cruises-journeys where guests are invited not only to visit remote parts of the planet, but also to learn about the culture, history, and ecology of the regions. All shore excursions are led by specialists: historians, biologists, anthropologists, botanists, ornithologists, naturalists, and photographers. If needed before going ashore, guests are provided with a warm jacket, a waterproof backpack, and a bottle of water. On board, binoculars are provided to all passengers, and a powerful telescope is installed in the Observation Lounge.
On sunny days, lunch on the cruise ship is served on the open deck, and the captain maneuvers the ship so that guests can enjoy the most beautiful and interesting views or events-for example, whales swimming by.
After active excursions, you can wonderfully unwind with a cup of tea or coffee in the Panorama Lounge and listen to live music, or relax in a small but fully equipped spa, visiting the sauna or steam room.
