Silver Discoverer

The third expedition ship of Silversea Cruises was built in 1989, and in September 2013 it was acquired by Silversea Cruises and modernized for exotic cruise routes. The main purpose of this cruise ship is expedition cruising. These are more scientific journeys than entertainment, yet this doesn’t affect onboard convenience and comfort: the ship has restaurants and a lecture hall, a gym and a beauty salon, a swimming pool, and all cabins feature panoramic views. The ship is equipped with 12 lifeboats designed to land passengers ashore in hard-to-reach places.

In all bars and cafés, you’ll be offered complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to suit any taste.

Silver Discoverer routes take you through remote archipelagos of the Pacific Ocean, with the ship’s shallow draft allowing it to travel at the closest possible distance to the coastline. Sailing regions include Southeast Asia (Borneo, Sulawesi, Indonesia, the Philippines, and West Papua), Australia and New Zealand, Micronesia, Melanesia and Polynesia, East Asia, and the Far East.

The ship’s maneuverability, along with spacious decks and panoramic lounges, ensures that you’ll never miss an interesting event or picturesque scenery. To explore coral reefs, the ship has a boat with a glass bottom, equipped with underwater snorkeling gear. Before going ashore on an excursion, all guests are provided with warm jackets, as well as a waterproof backpack and a bottle of water.

Cozy cabins have everything you need for a comfortable voyage: premium bed linens and the highest-quality Pratesi blankets, “luxury” toiletries, a mini-bar that your butler will carefully manage, a TV with satellite channels, and an enormous selection of films.
