Regatta

The liner was built in 1998 in a luxurious and refined style typical of cruise ships of the 1920s-1930s of the 20th century. Very recently, in the spring of 2014, the liner underwent a multimillion-dollar refurbishment that included upgrades to the interiors and modernization of the vessel.

The interior of both the public areas and the Regatta cabins is elegant and charming. The ship’s décor features wooden panels, heavy drapery, and oriental rugs. All of this helps create maximum coziness. There are 342 luxurious cabins and suites on board, nearly 70% of which are equipped with private verandas. Regatta is more like a country club than an ocean liner, where guests can enjoy a high-class five-star service, friendly staff, exquisite cuisine, and a relaxed atmosphere. Despite the fact that the liner belongs to the “premium” segment, this level is more typical of “luxury” class cruises.

Regatta is a mid-size liner. It is large enough to accommodate several restaurants and bars, as well as various entertainment areas, but at the same time small enough to call at ports that are inaccessible to huge liners and to avoid crowds of vacationers on board: the liner’s capacity is only 684 passengers.

Dining on board is organized in four main restaurants with a variety of menus. The elegant Grand Dining Room offers continental cuisine, as well as various local dishes (depending on the cruise itinerary). The restaurant has an ocean-view area. The Terrace Cafe offers oriental and seafood cuisine, as well as Mexican and Italian dishes. In the evening, the restaurant turns into a tapas buffet. In the small Italian restaurant “Toscana,” with a sea view, guests can enjoy the widest selection of Tuscan cuisine dishes. Finally, at Polo Grill, styled like a 1930s diner with leather chairs and photographs of the movie stars of that era, passengers can enjoy classic onion soup, steaks, grilled ribs, roasted lobster, as well as excellent salads and desserts.

One of the guests’ favorite places to relax on the Regatta, without a doubt, is the Horizons Lounge. From this quiet and cozy lounge, you can enjoy a wonderful view: a cup of coffee, a good book, and the sun setting over the ocean will be the perfect way to end a cruise day. The lounge has a dance floor, and concerts are also held here. Horizons Lounge is where the traditional afternoon tea takes place, with fragrant pastries and crisp cookies.

On board, a high-class Canyon Ranch SpaClub spa is available. It is one of the most well-known spa companies in the West, offering a unique range of body and facial care treatments: massages, acupuncture, Ayurvedic procedures, wraps, masks, aromatherapy, and much more. There are also steam saunas and a thalassotherapy room.

The drawback of the absence of large-scale Broadway-style theatrical productions is compensated by a large number of lectures, workshops, and training sessions: computer courses, Photoshop lessons, Spanish classes, learning embroidery, bridge, stories about the regions along which the cruise route runs, and of course, wine tastings.

On the Regatta, travelers won’t find noisy discos, huge water slides, and other things that are common on large liners. Regatta is, above all, comfort, exciting itineraries, great service, and delicious food.
