The cruise company Margaritaville at Sea has introduced the Annual Cruise Membership 2027 - a yearly membership that allows two adults to take an unlimited number of cruises on the company’s three ships.
The promotional membership price starts from $2 499 for two adults with double occupancy. The standard price listed on the official website is $2 699. The membership is already active and can be used for travel through December 31, 2027.
Which cruises are included in the subscription?
Annual Cruise Membership applies to itineraries of up to seven nights on all three liners Margaritaville at Sea:
Margaritaville at Sea Paradise;
Margaritaville at Sea Islander;
Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber.
Paradise sails from Palm Beach, Islander - from Tampa. The new Beachcomber will operate sailings from Miami from January to September 2027, and in October 2027 it will move to Galveston.
The membership includes one stateroom for two adults in any available category up to and including balcony. The specific category depends on the availability of cabins on the selected sailing.
Passengers can pay an additional fee for a better stateroom, extra packages, and onboard services.
What does “unlimited number of cruises” really mean?
Membership does not set a formal limit on the number of trips during its term. However, you can have only one active booking at a time.
The next cruise can be booked only after the previous one has been completed. This limits the ability to plan a calendar of multiple trips in advance.
Bookings are made no earlier than 30 days before departure. The pass holder must call the Margaritaville at Sea specialists, provide the membership number, and choose one of the available sailings.
After confirmation, the passenger immediately receives a cabin number. This is not a waitlist letter, however the company does not guarantee availability of places for every desired date.
What expenses are not included?
The subscription fee covers the base cruise fare for two adults. With each new booking, the following are also paid additionally:
government taxes;
port charges;
expenses related to a specific itinerary;
transport to the departure port;
air tickets and accommodation before or after the cruise;
drinks packages;
specialty restaurants;
internet;
shore excursions;
cabin category upgrades;
other additional services.
The amount of taxes and port charges depends on the itinerary and the number of ports. Therefore, even with a subscription, each trip will have a separate actual cost.
Main program limitations
Before purchasing an Annual Cruise Membership, it’s worth considering several important conditions:
the membership is non-transferable;
it cannot be passed on to another person;
the membership holder must personally travel on each booking;
only one active cruise is allowed at the same time;
bookings open up to a maximum of 30 days before the sailing;
cabin availability is not guaranteed;
blackout periods may apply on popular dates;
additional excluded dates may appear depending on ship occupancy;
no-shows without prior notice may result in the membership being cancelled.
The most challenging limitation for tourists from Europe is the short booking window. Buying a transatlantic flight only 30 days before the cruise can be significantly more expensive than planning the trip six or twelve months in advance.
Can other passengers be added?
The base subscription is calculated for two adults in the same cabin. When purchasing, you can arrange an additional option for a third or fourth passenger.
If such an option was not purchased in advance, additional guests can be added during booking at the applicable cruise fare. Taxes and port expenses are paid separately for each passenger in any case.
Who can a cruise subscription be beneficial for?
The program is best suited for travelers who:
live in Florida, Texas, or near the departure ports;
can travel spontaneously;
have a flexible work schedule;
are ready to choose sailings depending on cabin availability;
plan at least two or three trips;
are not tied to specific holiday dates.
For tourists who need to buy expensive airline tickets in advance, arrange visas, or plan their vacation, the value of the offer will be lower.
A new business model for the cruise market
Margaritaville at Sea is gradually transforming traditional cruise sales into a membership model. The previous Paradise Pass was available for just one ship, while the new subscription covers the company’s entire fleet.
For the cruise market, this is an interesting way to fill empty cabins before departure and build a loyal audience. The 30-day booking limit allows the company to first sell cabins at the regular price, and then offer the remaining capacity to program members.
For passengers, this isn’t fully free unlimited cruises, but rather a paid access to available capacity with a required add-on for taxes and fees.
Should you buy an Annual Cruise Membership?
A subscription can pay off for two adults after just a few trips if they live near the ports and can book cruises spontaneously.
For travelers from Ukraine or Europe, the decision should be made only after calculating flight tickets, hotels, and any additional payments. Before paying, it’s also important to check the current blackout dates and the full program terms.
