Bom Jesus dos Martirios Church
The church is located on the top of a high hill. A tall staircase leads up to it, whose total height exceeds one hundred and sixteen meters. On the staircase, figures are installed depicting the five human senses: hearing, sight, smell, touch, and taste. Along the staircase, there are several fountains. They symbolize the cleansing of the faithful who walk to the church. Near the church there is a small park where locals and tourists come.

St. Gonzalo Garcia Church
St. Gonzalo Garcia Church is a typical Catholic building from the colonial period. Nevertheless, it is worth visiting as one of the oldest Brazilian structures of this kind. The small but cozy temple building, in terms of architecture, is close to the Gothic style. The church has the traditional outline of small churches in Brazil- a central hall bordered by two modest towers, with five spires each. The pediment above the main entrance to the church is topped with a cross.
