HARVEST CAYE, Belize

Norwegian Cruise Line has created another private cruise port: for this, in 2013 the company acquired 75 hectares of land on two adjacent islands in southern Belize. Today, a magnificent passenger leisure area has been built there for cruise liner guests, called Harvest Caye. There you’ll find everything you need for a comfortable and impressive vacation - beautiful beaches, a lagoon for water sports, and bars and restaurants.

Guests of this port can take part in exciting excursions offered by the cruise company: for example, visit the ruins of ancient Mayan structures and a spice factory, go on a sea cruise through protected and amazing mangrove forests, and watch the games and lives of marine animals - manatees. You can also raft down a river through the very real jungles and visit a Mayan village. With an experienced guide, go on a hike - first by boat along the Monkey River, and then through the subtropical forest, where you can see exotic wild animals and flowers of incredible beauty. Finally, see the beauty of the coral reef for yourself through the transparent floor of a sightseeing catamaran, dive and swim in the clearest waters along the coast of southern Belize.

The climate of Belize is tropical trade-wind. The average monthly temperature is about +26°, with only minor changes across seasons. The northeast trade wind brings a lot of precipitation. In the south of the country it reaches up to 3500 mm per year. The rainy season lasts from May to July, and the dry period is from January to May. Hurricanes from the Caribbean Sea are not uncommon in the country, bringing heavy downpours and flooding.
