Description — Aristovo
Aristovo is a village in the Velikiy Ustyug District of the Vologda Oblast. Here a “green stopover” is arranged for the steamboat sailing on a cruise along the Sheksna and Sukhona rivers.
In a ravine on the right slope of the valley of the Malaya Northern Dvina River, 1 km upstream from the village of Aristovo (between the villages of Aristovo and Kuznevo), an exposure has been opened of multi-colored deposits of the Upper Tatarian substage of the Upper Permian system, with a rich complex of organic remains. At the base of the exposure there is one of the most well-known sandy lenses in the Northern Dvina, the so-called Aristovo lens, containing a rich complex of vertebrate remains.
Tourists arriving in the village by steamboat, during the stop, get acquainted with the beekeeper’s homestead, the life of the bees, and the healing properties of honey.
