Launched in 2009. Seabourn Odyssey became the first new ship in the fleet from Seabourn Cruise Line. Approximately 90% of the ship’s suites have private verandas. For the first time, a completely new cabin category appears - the Wintergarden Suite, which, in addition to the standard veranda, features an enclosed solarium area with a hot tub and a daybed for relaxing. On board, it’s also possible to book two adjoining suites that connect into one large cabin with two bedrooms and two verandas and can accommodate up to six passengers. Among the features of the new ship are one of the largest spa facilities among luxury-class cruise ships, as well as an expanded range of services provided to guests during the cruise.
On 11 passenger decks, there are two pools, six outdoor jacuzzis, dedicated areas for water sports, as well as a private showroom to showcase diamond jewelry.
Despite the fact that the ship is almost three times larger than the older ships in the Seabourn fleet, it retains the unique warm atmosphere of a private country club with excellent personalized service: literally from the very first day of the cruise, the staff already knows guests by name and by face.
The main differences between Seabourn Odyssey and large ocean liners are that there are never any lines here, there are always available seats in restaurants, bars and theaters, the spa and fitness centers are never overcrowded, and on the top deck at any time of day you can find a free lounge chair by the pool.
In keeping with historically established traditions, the main entertainment on Seabourn Odyssey is conversation. And there are plenty of opportunities for that on board. Here, as a rule, only smart, educated and interesting people gather, including invited specialists from the widest range of fields who hold hands-on workshops, give lectures, and chat with passengers about topics related to the features of the region the cruise itinerary passes through.
But that doesn’t mean that apart from talking or listening, there’s nothing else to do on board: there’s quite a large theater where shows in the style of Broadway take place, as well as solo performances by well-known artists and cabaret shows. In addition, live music evenings are held in every bar. On board, there is also a wonderfully equipped library and a computer center, and in the cabins, a modern interactive multimedia system is available, offering the richest selection of films and music.
Seabourn Odyssey is a true six-star boutique floating hotel. Its suites are designed luxuriously yet tastefully: marble finishes, soft lighting, and a calm color palette create a refined and cozy atmosphere. By the way, the ship’s special intimacy is evidenced by the fact that the company has abandoned the traditional huge, shining atrium: reception is located in a small area, a kind of oasis of calm and quiet, where, while waiting for an issue or problem to be resolved, guests can enjoy premium coffee and the freshest desserts.
