Description — Norwegian Aura

Norwegian Aura - the future flagship of Norwegian Cruise Line and the largest ship in the company’s history. The Prima Plus-class vessel is being built at the Italian shipyard Fincantieri and is scheduled to begin cruises on May 21, 2027.

Key features of Norwegian Aura:

  • length - almost 344 meters;

  • gross tonnage - about 170,000 GT;

  • capacity - 3,879 passengers with double occupancy;

  • total number of cabins - 1,976;

  • cabins and suites The Haven - 159;

  • approximately 10% larger than Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna.

The ship’s first voyage will be a seven-night cruise from Trieste to Barcelona with calls in Valletta, Salerno, and Civitavecchia. After the transatlantic crossing, the liner will be homeported in Miami.

In summer 2027, Norwegian Aura will operate seven-night cruises in the Eastern Caribbean with visits to Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Tortola, and the private island NCL Great Stirrup Cay. In winter 2027–2028, itineraries in the Western Caribbean are planned via Roatán, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and Harvest Caye.

Like other NCL ships, Norwegian Aura will operate in the Freestyle Cruising format - with no fixed dinner time, no assigned table, and no strict dress code.

Programs on the ship — Norwegian Aura

The final daily program for Norwegian Aura will be published closer to the start of the cruises. The itinerary of activities will be available in the Norwegian Cruise Line mobile app and on-board program.

On board, the following are planned:

  • theatrical productions;

  • live music performances by bands;

  • themed parties;

  • quizzes and team games;

  • karaoke;

  • dance classes;

  • sports tournaments;

  • family programs;

  • separate events for children and teenagers;

  • meetups for passengers traveling solo;

  • fitness classes and wellness programs;

  • games and outdoor concerts in Horizon Park;

  • evening events in bars, lounges, and on open decks.

Popular shows, specialty restaurants, and certain entertainment options are recommended to be booked in advance via the NCL app.

Nutrition — Norwegian Aura

On Norwegian Aura, 22 restaurants and dining venues are listed, featuring over ten world cuisines. In addition, there will be 17 bars and lounges on board.

A new highlight will be The Panorama Room - a free restaurant with multi-channel sound, lighting synchronized to it, and large LED screens on the walls and ceiling. The visual design will change throughout the evening.

Among the main restaurants:

  • The Panorama Room - a new free restaurant with multimedia décor;

  • Hudson’s - the main restaurant with a panoramic view of 270 degrees;

  • The Local Bar & Grill - an informal restaurant with popular everyday dishes;

  • the main “buffet” style restaurant;

  • the The Haven restaurant - only for passengers of the respective category.

Among the specialty restaurants:

  • Tamara - the first NCL specialty Indian restaurant;

  • Cagney’s Steakhouse - a steakhouse;

  • Le Bistro - French cuisine;

  • Sukhothai - Thai cuisine;

  • Palomar - Mediterranean dishes;

  • Onda by Scarpetta - Italian cuisine;

  • Hasuki - a Japanese teppanyaki restaurant;

  • Nama - sushi and sashimi.

Specialty restaurants are paid separately or may be included in the Free at Sea dining package. For popular venues, advance reservations are recommended.

The final list of free restaurants and menus may be updated before the ship’s debut.

Entertainment — Norwegian Aura

The main entertainment hub on board Norwegian Aura will be a three-deck complex Ocean Heights located on the upper decks. During the day, it will operate as an active entertainment park, and in the evening it will transform with lighting effects and LED projections.

Norwegian Aura features six water slides, including:

  • Eclipse Racers - pair of twin racing water slides;

  • Aura Free Fall - a water slide with a floor drop-through and a route of about 76 meters;

  • The Wave - a group raft water slide designed for four passengers;

  • The Drop - a dry slide descending ten decks;

  • two family slides in the kids’ water park.

Other attractions include:

  • Aura Ropes Course - a rope course with a length of about 25 meters;

  • an approximately 7.6-meter-tall climbing wall;

  • Moon Climber - a multi-level obstacle course;

  • Aura Midway - a zone with fairground games, contests, and prizes;

  • a nine-hole mini-golf course;

  • Kids’ Aqua Park;

  • Horizon Park with outdoor games;

  • Ocean Boulevard - an open promenade deck around the ship;

  • Infinity Beach with panoramic pools;

  • the largest pool deck among NCL ships;

  • Vibe Beach Club - a separate adults-only relaxation area.

The main theatrical premiere will be Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston - a musical show dedicated to the work of Whitney Houston.

The program also includes:

  • ILLUMINOX: Infinite Wonder Unboxed - a blend of acrobatics, illusions, and multimedia effects;

  • The Vinyl Republic - a series of live music performances;

  • Journey Through Rock;

  • Kickin’ It Country;

  • Latin Live;

  • Aura FIRST NIGHT;

  • LunaTique: Pop Circus - an evening cabaret for passengers aged 21+;

  • Deal or No Deal;

  • Wheel of Fortune;

  • Memory Lane;

  • Face Off;

  • Rock the Stage.

Some game programs, contests, and special shows may require an additional fee.

Tips — Norwegian Aura

According to the rules of Norwegian Cruise Line, effective as of September 2026, the daily service charge is:

  • $20 per person per day - for inside staterooms, staterooms with a window, balconies and Club Balcony Suite;

  • $25 per person per day - for suites and staterooms in The Haven category.

The charge is applied to passengers aged three and older. It can be paid in advance or left to be charged to the onboard account.

For certain purchases, beverage packages, specialty restaurants, spa services and other paid services, an additional 20% service charge may also be added.

Since Norwegian Aura will begin sailing in 2027, the amount of the charges may still change. Before booking, it is necessary to check the current NCL rules.

Drinks Packages — Norwegian Aura

For cruises on Norwegian Aura, options from the Free at Sea program may be offered, including the Unlimited Open Bar package.

Such a package typically includes:

  • cocktails;

  • beer;

  • wine by the glass;

  • spirits;

  • soda;

  • non-alcoholic cocktails.

The standard package applies to drinks up to the established NCL limit, which is currently $15. If a drink is more expensive, the passenger pays the difference.

Upgraded packages may additionally include:

  • premium alcoholic beverages;

  • champagne and premium wines by the glass;

  • bottled water;

  • energy drinks;

  • Starbucks specialty coffee;

  • discounts on bottles of wine.

The minimum age to order alcohol depends on the itinerary. During cruises departing from U.S. ports, a 21+ restriction typically applies, while on certain European itineraries alcohol may be available from age 18.

Price, package contents, and service charges depend on the booking country, cruise date, and the current promotion. Conditions must be checked for the specific sailing on the Free at Sea page.

Children's clubs — Norwegian Aura

Norwegian Aura is specially designed for family and multigenerational vacations.

Standard NCL kids’ programs will be available onboard:

  • Guppies Open Play - a play area for children from 6 months to 3 years, which can be visited together with parents;

  • Splash Academy - a free kids’ club for children from 3 to 12 years old;

  • Entourage - a club for teens from 13 to 17 years old.

On the open deck Ocean Boulevard, separate areas are also provided:

  • Little Explorers’ Cay - a playground for children from 2 to 6 years old;

  • Adventure Alley - a play area with tunnels and obstacles for children from 6 to 10 years old;

  • Surf’s Bay - a space for teens;

  • Kids’ Aqua Park with water features and two slides;

  • interactive LED games;

  • family play areas of Ocean Heights.

For the water slides, rock climbing wall, and rope course, age, height, health condition, and weather conditions restrictions will apply.

The cruise price includes — Norwegian Aura

The standard cruise fare usually includes:

  • accommodation in the selected cabin category;

  • meals in the main complimentary restaurants;

  • visiting the The Panorama Room restaurant;

  • meals at the “buffet” restaurant;

  • basic non-alcoholic drinks at designated venues;

  • main theatre shows;

  • live music and most evening programs;

  • access to swimming pools and jacuzzis;

  • use of the fitness centre;

  • most of the main outdoor attractions;

  • children’s clubs Splash Academy and Entourage;

  • Kids’ Aqua Park;

  • visiting Ocean Boulevard and Infinity Beach;

  • public areas Horizon Park and Ocean Heights;

  • luggage delivery to your cabin during embarkation.

The Free at Sea package may additionally include a drinks package, a certain number of visits to specialty restaurants, Wi-Fi, and a credit for shore excursions.

Additional charge — Norwegian Aura

The following may be charged separately:

  • daily service fee;

  • port charges and taxes, if they are not included in the stated price;

  • alcoholic beverages without the corresponding package;
