Cruises from Ivano-Frankivsk

Ivano-Frankivsk is located in Prykarpattia, in the western part of the country, and it is exactly here that the road to the cruise port splits into two realistic options. The cruise itself, of course, does not start here, but in Barcelona, Venice, Civitavecchia, Genoa, or Piraeus, where MSC, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Costa, and Celestyal liners wait for passengers. The first route option leads through Lviv: a short trip north, then the familiar path to the Polish border and airports with many flights toward the Mediterranean. The second option turns the route south, through Zakarpattia, to the Hungarian border: flights to European ports exist from there too, though the choice of flights is smaller than from major Polish hubs. Which direction to choose depends primarily on available flight connections for the needed dates: sometimes the Hungarian option wins thanks to a direct flight that is not available from Poland on that same date, and sometimes the other way around. Travelers from Ivano-Frankivsk should compare both options in advance, rather than automatically choosing the familiar Polish direction just out of habit. Regardless of the choice, the ground segment from Prykarpattia to either of the two borders is relatively moderate in time compared with the rest of the country, though it is still better not to plan the whole trip within a single day.
