THE HISTORY OF THE CREATION OF THE MSC SEASCAPE LINER

The MSC Seascape liner – is a new Seaside EVO class ship, which will become its second representative after MSC Seashore.

The ship is being built by the well-known Fincantieri Monfalcone shipyard in Italy. Work on the liner began in early 2021. In November 2021, the cruise ship was launched and moved to a wet dock for the transition to the next stage of construction. The first intensive engine sea trials were completed by the cruise ship in August 2022. After the completion of the final interior finishing works aboard the MSC Seascape, it will be handed over to MSC Cruises. According to the schedule, this will take place in November 2022.

Care for the environment is a very important aspect. MSC Seascape can be called an advanced liner. It is equipped with four Wärtsilä 14V 46F engines, which are fitted with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by 90%.

The cruise ship is also equipped with a hybrid exhaust gas cleaning system that makes it possible to remove 98% of sulfur oxide from emissions. The vessel is equipped with advanced waste management and ballast water treatment systems, as well as the latest technologies to prevent oil discharge from engine compartments during the cruise. The ship is fitted with an underwater noise management system designed to reduce its potential impact on the marine environment.

The christening ceremony of the MSC Seascape cruise liner is scheduled for December 2022. The ceremony will take place at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal in New York (USA) and will mark the start of the inaugural season.

After the inauguration, the MSC Seascape liner will head to Miami (USA) to visit its first cruise from there. The ship’s first cruise season will be in the Caribbean, where two different seven-day itineraries will be offered.
